Kaylee Raine Miles, daughter of Sheldon and Karen Miles of rural Hillsboro, is winner of the annual first baby contest sponsored by Marion County Record advertisers. Kaylee weighed 9 pounds and was 20½ inches long when she was born at St. Luke Hospital at 1:10 a.m. Jan. 14.

A 1,600 square-foot expansion to St. Luke Medical Clinic appears feasible and affordable, Marion County Hospital District No. 1 directors said Thursday at their regular monthly meeting. Construction on the proposed addition is estimated at $132,000, with additional $5,000 to $10,000 architectural fees.

The 63-61 victory over Remington Jan. 10 was sparked by a 27-point effort from Brad Druse. Coach Schrag also credited strong bench play from Jason Wheeler, Dax Kannady, and Bill Griffith.
