Dustin David Suffield, son of David and Tammy Suffield of Lincolnville, was the first baby of 1984 delivered at St. Luke Hospital in Marion. He was born at 8:47 a.m. Jan. 3.

Bennie Holtsclaw of Cedar Point, who has been traveling across the nation with his “Melody Wings Ministries,” will present a gospel concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marion.

The annual Tampa alumni banquet was held Dec. 30 in the Catholic hall with 103 in attendance. Officers elected for 1984 are Tom Costello, president; John Hajek, vice president; Becky Kleiber, secretary; and Mary Ann Frantz, treasurer. A dance followed the banquet with music by the Country Sound band.

Sandy Nickel has just returned from four months spent as a student in China. The petite daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ted Nickel of Marion delighted Marion Kiwanians Monday noon with information and details she learned during that time.

Teresa Weems, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Weems of rural Peabody, has been promoted from assistant manager of the Wal-Mart department store in Ardmore Okla., to the position manager at the Wal-Mart store in Higginsville, Mo. She is the seventh woman manager in the expanding chain of discount stores.

Former Marionite Vickie Fisher of Wichita, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Klassen, has returned from a three-day conference in Dallas, Texas, with the Mary Kay Cosmetics organization. She is an independent consultant who joined the firm in 1975.
