Marion Gymnasium was filled most of the day Saturday while throngs of people passed through on their way to various stations of Health Fair ’84. The first Health Fair to be held at Marion in more than 10 years was termed an outstanding success.

Members of the board of education did not make a final decision Thursday, but met in special session to consider a change in housing for students in the seventh and eighth grades.

Retail sales dropped in Marion County this year, compared to sales tax figures reported for February a year ago. This years’ $79,988.12 was $17,117.21 less than the $97,105.33 reported for February 1983.

Stephanie Williams, Marion High School junior, was crowned April 7 as 1984 Tri-County Junior Miss at Herington. Williams is the daughter of Rodney and Twilah Williams of Florence. Karla Konecny, a student at Centre High School, was first runner-up.

A come and go china bridal shower honoring Sherry Classen, bride-elect of Dr. James Bureman was held April 12 at the home of Mary Costello. Hostesses were Costello, Louise Colburn, Joyce Smith, Janice Case, and Helen Higgins.
