Routes have been mapped and arrangements made. Registrations are pouring in from all across the nation. They are coming from as far as California and Virginia and range in age from 10 to 77. Biking Across Kansas, BAK ’84, is becoming a reality. And it’s coming to Marion where bikers will have overnight accommodations in the high school gymnasium.
A pizza party was held at the Hillsboro Pizza Hut Friday to jointly celebrate the eighth birthdays of LeAnn Hiebert and Rebekah Zook. Classmates attending were Eileen Hett, Jody Jacobsen, Julie Jacobsen, Mariah Jantz, Kayla Jensen, Danielle Longhofer, and Terese Vinduska.
Mitch Merrill has joined the golf pro staff at Crestview County Club in Wichita. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Merrill of Marion.
Smokey Valley Long Rifle & Pistol Club held its major springtime rendezvous and black powder shoot this weekend at LaMar’s Gun Shop near Durham. About 170 spectators and members showed up for the event despite heavy rain Sunday.
Bob Hill, basketball coach and recruiter on the staff of KU coach Larry Brown, will be the featured speaker May 10 at the Kiwanis-sponsored Marion High School athletic banquet.
