Overtime clocks at the courthouse have upset department heads. The problem prompted an en masse visit by the disgruntled heads to county commissioners Monday during the commission’s regular meeting. The clocks have yet to be installed, and though commissioners have devoted portions of several meetings to discussion of prospective time clock policy, nothing has been set in writing.

Monday will be “Circus Day” in Marion, according to an official proclamation of Mayor Peggy Blackman

Construction on the new Stop’N Shop convenience store on East Main Street in Marion continued this week. After about three months of work, it is expected the building to be completed this week.

A dozen attorneys from Marion and Morris counties were among those who gathered at Marion County Courthouse Friday afternoon to honor David W. Wheeler, a 77-year-old practicing lawyer who was admitted to the Kansas Bar Association 50 years ago.

Several runners from Marion were among the competitors Saturday at the Smoky Hill River Festival races in Salina. Running the one-mile were Kristy Enos, Alison Ogden, and Ann Carr. Five-mile racers were Stephen Bryant, April Ogden, Darin Helmer, Monica Klenda, and Carl Abbott.
