Dorothy Varenhorst made an announcement at the regular Chamber of Commerce meeting Friday that approximately 1,200 people will be present at the Kansas “Campers and Hikers” spring convention to be held at Marion Feb. 28, March 1 and 2.

The estate of Meta Kasler has provided for $14,675.61 to go to Hospital District No. 1. This represented one of the largest gifts to the hospital, and one that certainly represented a noble effort on the part of the donor.

Queen Mariann Elling, daughter of Carl Elling, presided over the second half of the homecoming game Friday night when the Warriors came from behind in the fourth quarter to win over Hillsboro.

Jeannie Widler and Bradford Wildin were married Sept. 21 at Valley United Methodist Church.

Dr. Ralph R. Melton, well-known and highly regarded Marion physician, was admitted to Halstead Hospital Tuesday for surgery on Friday.
