Cecil Carrier, well-known weather announcer over KTVH television station at Wichita, will be the featured speaker Thursday at the annual meeting of Hospital District Auxiliary in Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

Work is progressing on the former Donaldson-Hosmer Building on Main Street where Wheeler & Wheeler, attorneys, are restoring its original sandstone elegance to the face of the 1887 building.

Stockholders of the Marion Country Club voted Thursday night by over a two to one majority to proceed with a proposal to install grass greens at the local golf course.

Members of the Marion Kiwanis Club will gather at the Mud Creek bridge with shovels and hoes Thursday evening and will clean weeds on Main Street in preparation for Old Settlers’ Day.

Richard Meisinger, Marion farmer who is a director of the Council Grove Production Credit Association, attended a conference recently in Wichita. The conference was a workshop for new directors of PCAs

The Coachmen, a quartet from Mid-America Nazarene College at Olathe, will be the featured entertainment during the afternoon program on Old Settlers’ Day this Saturday. They will sing gospel and spiritual selections, as well as some patriotic numbers for the Bicentennial year.
