Dorothy Varenhorst has been named chairman of the Marion PRIDE committee. She succeeds Alex Case Jr., who was chairman last year. Margaret Pickering was elected secretary-treasurer. Other members of the steering committee are Eloise Mueller, Alex Case Jr., Jack Regnier, Bill Meyer, Gerry Harris, Helen Loveless, Dr. Ted Garner, Lola Razor, Peggy Blackman, and Lucille Britain.
It took three good workers all day Saturday to get Lillie Schlotthauer’s traditional shiny Christmas tree up and ready for the season ahead. Mrs. Schlotthauer, who makes and keeps the tree in good order from year to year, plans to be in California for two weeks soon.
Don Buethe won champion honors in both the large and medium egg classifications last week at the Kansas Poultry and Industry Convention at Wichita.
Teresa Costello, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello, is a member of the Tridettes women’s drill team at Kansas State University. The drill team performs with the KSU marching band.
MHS football players who are seniors, their trainer, statistician and coaches were invited to the Bob Kelly home after the game Wednesday night for refreshments and visiting. Players attending were Brook Beaston, Tim Christensen, Jim Steele, Tim Zerger, Rick Just, Greg Regier, Terry Smith, Chuck Walker, Mike Classen, Randy Robertson, Dan Ludwig, Dennis Hamm, Gerald Shaft, and Pat Kelly.
