Margaret Pickering and Peggy Blackman have been named “outstanding young women of America” for 1976. Both women are willing and active workers in Marion community organizations. Their biographies will be published in the next edition of “Outstanding Young Women of America.”

“D.E. Special” is a brand of tractor that few people recognize. The “Special” is a one-of-a-kind tractor that is the handiwork of Dan Eitel of rural Tampa. “I used any part I could get my hands on,” commented Eitel.

A clever skit of songs, music, and history of its people was given at Pilsen Sunday to celebrate the nation’s bicentennial. Kathy Silhan narrated a program of songs, music and history.

John Holub of the Antelope community held the lucky ticket number called out Thursday evening as the grand prize at the NBC tournament in Wichita. His prize was a $700 above-the-ground swimming pool.

Harry M. Malm, president of Lutheran Hospital and Homes Society of America, has announced the appointment of Tom Evert as administrator of St. Luke Hospital and Nursing Wing in Marion.
