Eleven Marion Kiwanians, who have belonged to the local club for 25 years or more, will be recognized Aug. 27 at the Kiwanis District convention in Hays. They are Alex H. Case, Ollie Wight, Ira Newcomer, Dr. E.K. Schroeder, Roger Morse, David Wheeler, Homer Stenzel, L.L. Hadsell, Bill Meyer, Dean Batt, and Rosse B. Case.

Josephine Kline is the subject of this week’s Personality Profile.

Marion Hardware and other downtown buildings are being restored to their original beauty by sandblasters, painters, and other workmen. Other buildings, which have recently received attention, include the W.J. Hassinger Plumbing Shop, the Chamber of Commerce office, the Bakery, and the Morse and Batt Building. Downtown beautification is being urged by the Pride committee.

Pat Costello, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello of Marion and a recent graduate of the Boston University Law School, has accepted a position as an investigative reporter for WBZ television in Boston.

Pat Nuss will open her Sassy Shop today, Wednesday, in downtown Marion. The store will carry a wide variety of clothing for women and girls. She plans a grand opening event later.
