Marion Centre Library Association Inc. was founded in 1881. In 1893, the collection of books was housed in the YMCA building. Two years later the library closed, and stayed that way until 1902 when it was restarted. The library moved to its present location in the City Building upon completion of that building in October 1938. Today, Marion City Library is thriving with many services available.
