Artistic décor, soft lighting, good food, and fine entertainment created an authentic renaissance atmosphere for Marion Community Arts Council’s dinner-theatre Saturday night at Marion County Lake Hall. About 180 attended the affair, which featured a variety of music by Wichita’s Renaissance Consort and Marion’s Madrigal Singers.

Marion High School classes holding reunions on Old Settlers’ Day include the Class of 1916 that will include 15 of the living 20 members of the class and two teachers. Also having reunions will be the classes of ’26, ’46, and ’56.

Henry Collett, grandson of H. Collett, who started the community of Elk, is the subject of this week’s Personality Profile. Henry tells the history of the Collett family and how they came to Kansas.

Wallace Siebert, retired merchant, grain dealer, and farmer in the Canada area, died Sept. 15 at St. Luke Hospital.

When Gladys Queen was exploring the attic in the home she had purchased at 301 N. Walnut in 1961, she ran into a box of books and papers that had been left by the former owners, the Ehrlich family. Ehrlich and Sons milling business had been in Marion since the early days. In 1960, it was closed. Queen then brought the box to the newspaper office. After going through every sheet of the records, they were taken to the Marion Historical Museum to be evaluated by curators of that institution.
