Marion High School debaters took first place in the Class 2A east Kansas regional tournament this past weekend. They are Marsha Jackson, Carla Stovall, Berry Jo Garrard, Betsy Bowers, Carol Colburn, and David Colburn.

There has been a lot of interest
“but few takers” in the new regulations which allow a person to purchase personalized license plates for automobiles. Only one request has been made so far.

Newly-elected county officials sworn in Monday at the courthouse are Sheriff June Jost, Commissioner M.P. Thompson Jr., County Attorney Steve Johnson, Register of Deeds Alma Wiebe, Clerk of the District Court Geraldine Seibel, and Commissioner Charles DeForest.

Little Miss New Year of 1975, Alison Louise Wood, was born Friday at St. Luke Hospital. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wood.

Dr. and Mrs. Bill Wygle have joined the Norman Insurance Co. firm of Oklahoma City where she will be a sales representative and he will be a consultant for college and university educational endowments.
