Congressman Garner Shriver notified the Marion County Record Tuesday that the Burns Union School has been nominated by the Kansas State Historical Society and has been entered into the National Register of Historical Places.

Marion National Bank will sponsor a three-day trip to the popular AK-SAR-BEN horse races at Omaha, Neb., the second week of May.

Mrs. Willard (Earlene) Hague, clerk of the board of education of Marion USD 408, was elected to the office of treasurer of the Kansas Association of Educational Secretaries at the spring workshop held March 21 and 22 in Wichita.

The public is invited to an open house and beef barbecue Saturday at the grand opening of Hett’s Implement on South Cedar.

Ladies at Mid-America Nursing home donned their Easter bonnets and had an Easter parade last week. Pastors John Daly, Bill Staub, and David Branson served as judges.
