The Marion High School mixed choir “wowed ‘em” at Omaha. The young vocalists, directed by Ken Forsyth, performed Thursday in the Omaha Convention Center and it was a highly successful concert. It was so successful, in fact, that the delegates to the convention of music instructors gave the choir a standing ovation.

Steven Hanschu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hanschu, recently spent two weeks in London and surrounding communities with 40 other library science graduates from the United States.

Marion County Courthouse offices will be carpeted, but not the halls or stairways. The commissioners awarded a contract to Heinrichs Floor Covering of Hillsboro to carpet the offices.

Sherri Winkler celebrated her eighth birthday Saturday with a party at her home. Guests invited were Leann Snelling, Shelly Bina, Sherry Olsen, Melissa Krispense, and Melanie Druse. After gifts were opened, Sherri’s mother served birthday cake and ice cream.

The Marion City Commission has appointed two new members to the Library Board. Roger Hannaford and Mrs. K.C. Wingerd will replace Mrs. Roger Morse and Ray Vinduska whose terms have expired.
