Marion High School scholastic and achievement honors were announced Tuesday night at commencement exercises. Mary Lou Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bowers, was named valedictorian. Susan Vinduska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vinduska, was named salutatorian. Selected as “outstanding senior girl” was Teresa Costello, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Costello. Selected as “outstanding senior boy” was Ronald Weber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Weber.
Marion Chamber of Commerce presented a life membership to Doctor Ralph Melton last week in appreciation of his continuous service to the community—and in recognition of his outstanding leadership which has helped to make Marion continue to live up to its motto—Best Place I’ve Seen.
Hett’s Implement Co. was host to over 70 people Sunday noon at a potluck dinner honoring 11 Polish trainees in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. One of the trainees, Kazimierz Kajac, is working for six months at Hett’s Implement.
Daryl Enos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Enos, was recently selected as one of four winners of the Young American Award for 1975. The award is an annual program of the Exploring Division of the Scouting movement. Daryl was in competition with young people throughout the 19-county area of the Quivira Council, Boy Scouts of America.
