A new worm business will be opening in Marion soon. The business will be located in the basement of the Old Seymour building just west of the railroad tracks. Dan Opper and Mike Whitney, partners, will bring the worms from Denver this week for the starting of the business here.

Marion Senior Girl Scouts will sponsor a Christmas homes tour Sunday. Homes on the tour are those of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Zerger, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keazer, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Beeman, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Christensen, and Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Longhofer.

Announcement was made this week that Joan Kroupa of Marion has been initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, national scholastic honor society at Kansas State University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kroupa and a junior in special education at K-State.

This week’s Personality Profile deals with John Long, a graduate in Pharmacy at the University of Kansas. He currently is employed at Marion Professional Pharmacy.

The exterior walls of the new VFW post home are near completion. The project is being completed by members and friends of the VFW, with nearly all of the labor donated.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Good gave a slide presentation of their trip to Europe for the Durham Lions Club’s Christmas dinner Monday evening at the Ramada Inn in Newton.
