A mobile art gallery is coming to Marion this weekend with an exhibition honoring Kansas. The exhibit is entitled, “Two Hundred Years of Kansas Art” and displays a wide variety of art media and style predominant in Kansas throughout its history.

Herb Wullschleger was the first place winner in the annual Marion County Record subscription contest just ended. His prize was a Victor printing calculator valued at $149.50. Second prize was claimed by Mrs. Wayne Annis of Marion, an attractive clutch purse with built-in Rockwell calculator valued at $40.

Frank Boyle, Kansas Highway Trooper stationed in Marion, is the featured person in this week’s Personality Profile by Ruth Meyer.

Marion will soon have available the services of two part-time free lance photographers. Don Jantz of Hillsboro and Glen Bartel of Marion are planning to open their studio here as soon as they can get the building fixed to their needs. It will be located between Hannaford Abstract Co. and the corner of Third and Main streets downtown.

Aaron, Amy, and Andy Hett hosted an ice-skating party on New Year’s Day with the children enjoying a football game on ice. Invited guests were Kim and Robbie Hett, Dirk and Devin Francis, Greg Boyle, Mitch and Brad Carlson, Jamie Shirley, Jan and Elaine Nuss, Lisa Wilson, Kim and Nancy Kline, Melissa Robinson, JoElla Smith, Cinde Miesse and Cindy Heerey.
