Marion County officials took their oaths of office at noon Monday morning, sworn in by County Clerk Barbara Farley. The officers are Ed Broz and Elmer “Buss” Uphoff, county commissioners, County Attorney John Johnson, Magistrate Judge Henry Loveless, Register of Deeds Alma Jean Wiebe, Court Clerk Geraldine Seibel, and Sheriff June Jost.
Dr. Linda Loney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Loney of Marion, was elected recently to serve at vice president of the house staff at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Births announced in this issue were those of Stephanie Lea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Christiansen of Tampa, born Dec. 28; Shannon Dale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ewert of Broomfield, Colo., born Jan. 6; and Julie Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Waner, also born Jan. 6.

Terri Louise Robinson, a senior at Marion High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Robinson of Florence, has enlisted in the Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) of the United States Air Force.
