Tom Evert, administrator of St. Luke Hospital, is pictured presenting a certificate of award representing a $1,000 Frederick R. Knautz scholarship to Jeanie Koslowsky, Marion High School senior. Koslowsky plans to attend Emporia State University for one year, and then transfer to Marymount College to complete her degree in nursing.

Lynn Dickey, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and former passing star at Kansas State University, is honorary chairman for Kansas Nursing Home Week. As part of the event, Dickey will be present at Mid-America Nursing home in Marion from 11 to 11:30, Thursday.

Terri Enos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Enos of rural Marion, is one of five girls selected to be a member of the “back pack patrol” of the Flint Hills Girl Scout Council. The patrol will take a long hike from July 16 through 23 this summer in the mountains of Colorado.

Although Gene Winkler is not a new face at Goodyear Farm Tire Center, he has been promoted to a new position. He was recently appointed manager of the Marion store on the northeast edge of the city.

Florence Main Street is being transformed, temporarily, into an earlier time and an earlier place. It will be one of several locations for the filming by Radnitz-Mattel Productions, of the television movie, “Mary White.” A number of Marion people are working on parts of the construction, including Eldon Hett, Bob Good, Rev. Otto Truog, Bill Baker and others.
