A huge log at Florence’s Fifth Street bridge east of the city nearly stopped surface flow on the Cottonwood River there for two days last week.

Lincolnville has completed plans for its annual Fourth of July celebration to be held in the city park. The evening will end with fireworks at the ball diamond.

Mr. and Mrs. James McPheeters have purchased Kingfisher’s Inn at Marion County Lake from Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Post.

LaDonna Kirkendall, Cloverdale, Ohio, announce the engagement of her daughter, Karen LaDonna, to Robert Eugene Konarik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Konarik, rural Marion. An August 13 wedding is being planned.
