Members of the Marion High School class of 1938 gathered at the VFW building Saturday evening for their 40-year reunion. The group included 19 classmates and two former teachers, Maude Thompson and Melton Senti. Also present were Mrs. Senti and Mrs. Maurice B. Myer, widow of Maurice B. Myer, superintendent.

Blondie and Earl Frick, owners of the popular E & M Café in Durham are recognized this week in staff writer Ruth Meyer’s “Personality Profile.”

A group of 30 men and women rode two “Sixty Plus” buses Saturday to the Montgomery County site of “The Little House on the Prairie” made famous by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Mrs. Ernest Meierhoff was in charge of the tour with Wilbur Razor and Homer Stiller doing the driving.

A party in the hallway of the courthouse Friday afternoon honored Judge and Mrs. Henry F. Loveless who are retiring from many years of public service.

Births announced in this issue are those of Jenny Ann, daughter of Gordon and Shirley Groening of Marion and Melissa Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Vinduska. Both babies were born May 23.

The deafening roar of over 300 motorcycles resounded through the streets of Florence Sunday afternoon as that city hosted the sixth annual Florence Grand Prix, sponsored by the Flint Hills Bent Rims motorcycle club.
