Oelschlager Furniture and Carpeting has become The County Seat. Walter and Pearl Oelschlager turned over the keys last week to Steve Widler and Brad, Jeannie, and Josh Wildin.

The offices of the county Social and Rehabilitation Services are moving from the courthouse annex to 900 E. Main, where a former drapery factory is being remodeled.

Grace Richmond, who began working at St. Luke Hospital in 1957, is the subject of this week’s “Personality Profile.”

A community shower is planned for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lehmann and their two small sons, who lost their home, two miles east and one south of Lincolnville, and all personal belongings during a fire Monday night.

Two Marion churches, whose beginnings reach back to the early days of Marion Centre, joined Sunday morning for a holiday celebration in Central Park. Approximately 150 Valley United Methodists and First Presbyterians worshiped and picnicked together for the third consecutive year, a renewal of friendships between two congregations that had their births in the early 1870s.

After four years absence, a real drugstore malt (or shake) has returned to Marion Professional Pharmacy. Debbie Regier is pictured as she whips the ice cream, malt, and flavoring into delicious malt for waiting customer, Ray Longhofer.
