Tom Evert, administrator for Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society at St. Luke Hospital, is the subject of this week’s “Personality Profile.”

The “Wandering Wheels” bicycle group, on a transcontinental tour from San Diego, Calif., to Norfolk, Va., arrived in Marion Friday morning for a brief halt during their journey. The 65 bicycle riders browsed through stores and rested in front of the post office or in Central Park. “Wandering Wheels” is a full time Christian ministry, offering bicycle and bus tours as part of its program.

Jim Hoch of Marion is one of more than 100 University of Kansas students touring Europe and earning college credit this summer as a participant in KU’s summer language institutes. Hoch, a 1976 MHS graduate, is studying in Germany.

Birth announcements in this issue include that of Benjamin George Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Jackson, born July 2 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton.
