Fall and winter fashions were featured Sunday afternoon at a fall fashion preview at St. Mark’s Activity Center. Sponsoring the event were The Sassy Shop and Jackson’s Men’s and Boy’s Wear.
The diesel-powered generating unit that once supplied electrical power to homes in Marion will arrive soon in Molokai, Hawaii, where is will be used to power the needs of the island’s growing tourist interest. The city sold the engine for $50,000. It was reconditioned by Exline, Inc. of Salina before being shipped to Hawaii.
Gold Star Mothers, those who have lost a son in the military service, are recognized in a special way each year as National Gold Star Mothers Day is observed.
