Jeff Brewer, vocal music instructor at Marion High School, announces that all 13 vocalists who auditioned for district choir have been selected to appear in the choir. Those chosen are Laurie Laubhan, Eva Sassenscheidt, Julie Hett, Linda Schaffer, Janelle Bowers, Lori Hett, Sheri Kelly, Chuck Gough, Greg Boyle, Paul Loney, Bill Hoch, Jay Smith, and Brian Bowers.

St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church was filled to near capacity Sunday afternoon for the Mass and beginning of the celebration which marked 25 years of service to the parish by Monsignor Arthur J. Tonne.

Casey Case, Marion’s star senior halfback, led the list of Warriors named to the CVL first-string football team. Case was the league’s leading rusher with 1,444 yards for the season. He averaged 7.9 yards per carry, and an astounding 9.9 yards per carry against CVL opponents.
