The annual open house event at St. Luke Hospital will be a bit unusual this year—for another physician will be welcomed and a new administrator greeted. They are Dr. Morton Diament and his wife DeLille and Ron Cork, wife Vicki, and their three young children.

The Wichita Sunday Riders, composed of 40 motorcycles, carrying 55 riders, buzzed into Marion Sunday morning. They came to Marion to enjoy breakfast at the Owl Car Café, and then went on their way back to Wichita by the scenic route—over K-150 to Strong City and through the Flint Hills by way of Matfield Green and Cassoday.

Sally Helmer, bride-elect of Roger Hannaford III, was guest of honor at a pottery shower Saturday afternoon at the Rosse Case home.

Pictured enjoying a Latin American feast are Chris Meierhoff and Richard Campbell, sixth graders in Marion Ogden’s Latin American class at Florence Middle School. The meal was one part of Latin America Day that included a fiesta with piñata-breaking in the afternoon.

David P. Mueller of rural Tampa has been designated a Henry J. Putnam Memorial Scholar by Kansas State University. Mueller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Werner Mueller of Tampa and a Centre High School graduate.
