Two juveniles and an 18-year-old Haysville youth who grew up at Peabody have been arrested in connection with the July 29 slaying of Peabody bank teller Grant Avery.

Elaine Nuss, 17-year-old daughter of Leland and Pat Nuss of Marion, was selected Kansas Junior Shorthorn Association queen July 21 at Ellsworth. As queen, Elaine, a Marion High School senior, will attend all major livestock expositions, including the Beef Expo in Wichita and the Denver Livestock Show.
