Irv Schroeder, president of Irv Schroeder County Motors, Inc., Hillsboro, has opened an automobile and truck showroom located on US-56 at the east edge of town.

Marion Municipal Airport needs more hangars. That’s what six local pilots told the city commissioners Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bredemeier have purchased the Dine Inn Café from Mr. and Mrs. Stanley May. The downtown business is closed this week, during the transition period, but will be opened for business Tuesday following the Labor Day holiday.

Carol Laue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sanders, celebrated her ninth birthday Saturday at a party with her friends. Those attending were her sister Christine Laue, Robin Summervill, Dodie Cork, Lucy and Lilly Guerra, Stephanie Summerville, Kristi Enos, Sara Gough, Jennifer McLain, and Mary Margaret Mills.

The Roman Humlicek Polka Band from Wichita will provide music and lead the singing Sunday when a polka mass will be offered as part of the Pilsen Homecoming observance at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.
