Two female employees of the state Social and Rehabilitation Services were rescued Sunday morning after a four-day ordeal of being stranded in their mud-bound car 3.5 miles southeast of Lost Springs.

Mrs. Joel Friesen of Marion announces the engagement of her daughter, Jonell, to Mark Schrock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Schrock of Wichita. A May 10 wedding is planned.

Eastmoor was the winning team in the annual men’s city bowling tournament. D. Christiansen and J. Darrow were first in the doubles competition, Gene Winkler was singles winner, and R. Janzen won the all events category.

County assistant health nurse Anita Hoffman is pictured checking the blood pressure of Marjorie Evenson on Thursday at the county health clinic in Lincolnville.

A party was held at the Robert Jirak home after the Marion-Hillsboro basketball game Saturday evening honoring the junior and senior boys on the MHS team and their coaches. Hosting the party were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hett, and Mr. and Mrs. Jirak.
