The grand opening of the newly constructed Lynn’s Farm Equipment Inc. is Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The 19,000 square-foot structure sits at the west entrance to the city of Marion on US-56.

Jackie Robinson, CSR, of Wichita, has been appointed official court reporter for Judge Nicholas Klein in the Eighth Division of Sedgwick County District Court. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin H. Robinson Sr., Florence, and a 1976 graduate of Marion High School.

Charcoaled steaks were served to a record crowd at the annual Farm-City affair Monday night. Shown working at the cookers are Roger Hannaford III, Les Griffith, Forrest Smith and Ken Springer. They, and other volunteers, served 588 steaks in 90 minutes.

MHS girls’ basketball team has three returning seniors, Linda Williams, Tammy Sandwell and Kim Schaffer. Juniors on the team are Margie Dyck, Loreen Wiens, and Trudy Ratzloff. Cindy Heerey is the lone sophomore. Competing for the first team will be freshmen Lora Wolf, Rochelle Mueller, Nancy Kline, Tracy Burkholder, Valerie Smith, Tammy Harris and Sharon Ratzloff.
