Watercolors by Lincolnville artist Verna (Mrs. Al) Riffel will be on display through March at Marion City Library. Her exhibit is being sponsored by Coterie Club of Marion.
Jim Lehrer, known to the public as anchorman of the nightly news on public television’s “MacNeil/Lehrer Report,” will return to Kansas to be the on-air host for KPTS/channel 8’s production of “Messiah” to be offered Easter Sunday, April 8. Lehrer who lived in Marion during his junior high years is hoping to be able to visit Marion in April, but is not certain as yet.
Ron Ludwig of Florence is the subject of this week’s “Personality Profile.”
Queen of Court candidates Jan Nuss, Leslie Burkholder, and Joan Hiebert await announcement of which one will reign over Friday’s game between Marion and Herington. A dance Saturday night will highlight MHS’s basketball homecoming festivities.
Darryl L. Ehrlich, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ehrlich of Marion, has successfully completed certification examinations and has accepted a position as a commodity broker with Heinold Commodities of Dallas, Texas.
Beth Beneke was crowned Centre High School basketball homecoming queen Friday night. Bob Vinduska was honored as Centre King.
