Lynn’s Farm Equipment, Inc., Marion, is hosting its 16th annual pancake and sausage day March 19. Employees will serve the food and invite customers and friends to attend.

A feature story tells about the passive solar home recently built by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Broz on their rural property east of Marion. The home has a southern exposure with numerous windows. Along with its earth-banked northern wall and simple insulation, the home is kept warm with more than enough heat.

Lyle Leppke of Peabody, a member of the wool judging team at Kansas State University, recently helped his school win the 1981 National Western Wool Judging contest in Denver.

Greg Boyle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyle, and Ron Wineinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wineinger, have been selected by the Board of Regents as “State of Kansas Scholars.” Each boy is eligible for up to $500 per academic year

The City Squares square dance club held its regular dance in the city building March 7 with Jeff Davidson of Eureka as caller.

Kansas State University junior Marc Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Smith of Marion, is the 1981 recipient of the Max Straube Achievement Award given to the outstanding junior majoring in feed science and management at KSU.
