Three Marion High School students received special recognition Tuesday night during commencement exercises at Marion Gymnasium. Pat Loney and Ron Wineinger were named co-valedictorians and Greg Boyle was introduced as salutatorian.
Six Marion natives will receive diplomas May 24 for achieving the Bachelor of Arts degrees from Tabor College, Hillsboro. They are Greg Regier, Jarvis Seaman, Ann Christensen, and Carol Regier. Sue Harris and Rose Vinduska will receive bachelor’s degrees in social work.
Priscilla Club celebrated its 75th anniversary May 12 at a tea held in the home of Mrs. David W. Wheeler. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Kenneth Muse and Mrs. W.H. Carpenter
Laurie Shaneyfelt, a senior at Kansas State University, is working on the staff of the Marion County Record this summer as an intern in journalism.

A large crowd attended a hog roast at the Marion County Lake hall Saturday evening hosted by Blair and Nancy Tharp to celebrate Nancy’s graduation from nursing school and Bob Richmond’s birthday.
