A capacity crowd attended the annual Marion Community Church Choir Thanksgiving performance Tuesday night at the city building. Jeff Brewer led the choir in a selection of seasonal songs.

Winners of the grand opening drawing at the County Seat’s Armstrong Carpet Studio are Irene Kreutzman, first; Sadie Powell and Ruby Laudner, second; Nettie Rittel and LaDonna Ewert, third.

Lori Hett and Douglas Heerey, both students at Friends University, Wichita, and members of the Singing Quakers, presented several musical numbers at Strassburg Church Sunday evening.

Darren and Melvin Weems of Peabody, both hunting with bow and arrow, are pictured with two bucks they killed Nov. 22. Melvin’s buck was a five-pointer and his son’s was a four-pointer.

4-H Project leaders receiving service awards at the annual Marion County Achievement Banquet Nov. 4 were Paula Fike, 21 years; Trevia Schneider, 15, Steve Eskeldson, 9, Myrna Eskeldson and Judy Deines, 5; Gloria Martin and Betty Ohm, 4; Marilyn Brunner and Sandra Deines, 3; and Steve Deines, 1.

Sara Lynn Cleeton, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Rick Cleeton of Russell, celebrated her first birthday in Marion Friday at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bruner.
