The Kansas Department of Transportation will accept bids June 17 at Topeka on the long-awaited Main Street crossing of Luta Creek in Marion. The old concrete bridge will be removed, a two-lane detour will be provided over the creek channel during construction, and the finished project will be an earth fill rather than a span. The fill will have a tube to carry water downstream.
About 150 Square dancers from across the state honored Bud Pierce of Marion Thursday at a surprise party at Marion County Lake hall honoring him on his 25th anniversary as a caller.
Twenty-seven separate charges have been filed against eight Marion juveniles resulting from an extensive investigation by the Marion Police Department. The charges include six counts of delinquency and 21 counts of miscreancy.
