Continental Trailways has made no effort to continue to serve the community, ignoring the town’s transportation needs. However, a new company, Trans State Trailways, headquartered in Larned, has started providing bus service along US-56 with connections to Kansas City and Wichita.

The select choir at Marion High School popularly known as “Swing Singers” will present Christmas season concerts Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18 and 19, in the school’s music room.

Barbara Longhofer, who for the past five years has been administrator at Marion Manor nursing home, this week announced she will resign her position effective Jan. 1. Ray Huber, owner of the home, announced that Anita Hoffman, R.N., will become administrator Jan. 1.

Dr. Don Hodson, who has set up practice at St. Luke Medical Clinic, was the recipient of the Marion Chamber of Commerce’s traditional “first dollar” plaque at noon Friday.
