Downtown sidewalks and curbs are in poor repair. But, Jack Regnier is one property owner who is doing something about it. Regnier hired contractor Earl Winter to replace the sidewalk in front of Marion Auto Supply. It’s a move that should be followed by others.

Prospective “Sweet Adelines” entertained Salem Home residents at Hillsboro Dec. 21, presenting Christmas songs and barbershop favorites.

Helen Stromberg, Pearl Break, and Bessie Rogers are pictured as the dry and put away dishes following the noon meal Thursday at the Florentine Senior Center.

Nancy Soyez, a junior from Cedar Point, is a member of the Emporia State University basketball team. Soyez is a graduate of Chase County High School.

Beth Regier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Regier of Marion, and a junior at Tabor College, and Jon Wiebe, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wiebe of Marion, a freshman at Tabor, both serve on the music committee for the Tabor Youth Conference.

Members of Marion Kiwanis Club paid a holiday visit to Marion Manor Monday and entertained residents with songs through the lunch hour. The group, totaling over 15, was led in song by Bob Brookens. Newly appointed administrator for the home, Anita Hoffman, accompanied on the piano.
