Gerry Harris, owner of Marion Motor Center, will sponsor the popular “punt, pass, and kick” contest again this year for all boys 8 through 13 in the community.

John Lewellen brought some 3½-pound cucumbers and some “smaller” ones that measured 20 inches in length to the Marion County Record produce derby this week. He had another one that weighed four pounds, and several in the 3½-pound range. In addition, Mrs. George Vinduska of Pilsen had a 33-pound watermelon, Early Kansas variety (with stripes).
