The Goodyear Farm Tire Center open house and “Chili-dog Day” Friday was a big success in spite of the storm which closed many roads and highways.

Former State Senator William H. Ward, retired Marion insurance and real estate agent, died Tuesday night at St. Luke Hospital. Senator Ward had been taken to the hospital Monday night with an apparent heart attack

High school students will take a long walk Sunday afternoon to help provide funds for the proposed “coffee house” they hope to establish in Marion. Each student has already solicited sponsors, who will pay specified amounts per mile—and are planning to hike from the high school parking lot to the Marion County Lake and back.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Bronson, Kensington, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Donna Vee, to Warren Kreutziger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Kreutziger of Marion. They have chosen April 7 for their wedding date.

With $2,759.04 in cash and two more money-raising events to be turned in at headquarters, the hope-for sum of $2,000 will be reached or exceeded to finance a trip for the Marion High School male chorus to Dallas, Texas, where they have been invited to sing March 8.
