Members of the Marion County Planning Commission met in Marion Thursday and heard David Schneider discuss the need for a rural water district in the Lincolnville, Lost Springs and Ramona areas. The commission pledged to support the development.

One of the most interesting programs in some time was brought to members of Marion Kiwanis Club Monday when Craig Roebke delivered an informative talk on the foster parent program.

American Legion Auxiliary met Feb. 19 and selected girls from the high school junior class to represent them at Girls State. Those chosen were Teresa Costello, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello, and Mary Lou Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bowers. Alternates are Patty Kjellin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kjellin, and Patti Forsyth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Forsyth.

Sharon Anderson and Marty Beaston left March 1 to participate in the UMYF Spring Christian Citizenship Seminar at the United Nations and Washington, D.C. They will spend three days in New York and three days in Washington.

Christy Silhan, daughter of Mrs. Frank Svitak of rural Marion, will graduate from Professional Beauty College of Wichita this month and will receive her Kansas certificate as a professional beautician.
