After 16 years of limited vision and lack of sense of touch or taste, Robert Hansen of Florence had those senses restored Saturday when a tooth was extracted by Dr. E.K. Schroeder. Hanson will never dread a visit to the dentist’s office again.

Menno Buller, who lives west of Marion, proves that his green thumb can work wonders in dry weather, too. He has grown a prize cucumber, which weighs three pounds. Now that’s a real pickle!

Women’s liberation was celebrated Friday evening at the Marion Tractor Pull when Mrs. William (Kala) Nickel skillfully tapped the throttle of her big red IHC tractor and won hands down over all the men.

The majestic pipe organ at Marion’s Valley United Methodist Church will be rededicated Sunday, following extensive remodeling and the addition of more ranks of pipes. Burton Tidwell, who formerly lived in Marion, will be the recital artist.

Jacintha Konecny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Konecny of Lincolnville, was crowned 1975 Tri-County “Junior Miss” last week at the Tri-County Fair in Herington.
