Workmen are busy putting finishing touches on the new addition to Mid-America Nursing Center of Marion. The new wing will be opened before the first of the year, and will increase the capacity of the facility by 24 beds. The wing extends to the north of the present east-west structure.

One of the most coveted awards in Scouting was bestowed on a deserving Marion boy Sunday when Rev. Ray Ewing pinned the God and Country medal on Life Scout Jim Koslowsky. A Marion High School sophomore, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Koslowsky.

“Little Nell, the Orphan Girl” is the melodrama offered Nov. 16 by Centre High School. Cast members are Sheryl Matz, Wendy Safarik, Diana Edmonson, Collette Collett, Julie Hensley, Rosie Bina, Nancy Novak, Rod Erickson, Darrell Krause, Rod Holub, and David Nelson.

The congregation of Eastmoor United Methodist Church met Sunday evening and voted to purchase a Rodgers 220 electronic organ. The Rodgers 220 is the electronic organ used when Diane Bish presented the Community Arts Council organ recital recently.

A new building is being completed this week at the Cooperative Grain and Supply elevator. The 24’ x 80’ all steel structure will be a feed building and will provide workshop space.

A mighty oak fell in Central Park sometime Friday night or early Saturday morning. The stalwart shade tree toppled over in soft ground which had recently been standing in flood waters.
