A masked armed robber carrying a shotgun and a handgun held up the Pilsen State Bank at Lincolnville this Wednesday morning. He took everything he could get his hands on, stuffed it in a pillowcase, and drove away at high speed in a 1972 Brown Plymouth with dark vinyl top. He headed south on U.S.-77. An airplane has been contacted and the area is being searched at press time.

The new Recreation Hall at Marion County Lake is finished and furnished. The 120’ x 40’ air- conditioned steel building has tables, chairs, and furnished kitchens in each hall. It rents for $15 per half, per shift (day or evening). The building may also be opened up into one big room, if need be.

Members of Marion Kiwanis Club enjoyed a color slide presentation by Mrs. Robert Priest Monday noon, telling about her three years in Algeria. E.G. “Irish” Ireland, Hutchinson, a former Marion football coach, was a guest.

Mrs. Arthur Hett hosted a Hallowee’en party at her home Thursday evening. This is the 25th year Mrs. Hett has entertained in this manner. Hot dogs, pie and coffee were served to Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hett, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ewert, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Siebert, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hett and family and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Jones and family. Bingo was enjoyed by all.

The Pilsen CYO play took first place Sunday in the Newton Deanery play contest. Cast members were Alan Bina, Julie Oborny, Lindsay Holub, Dennis Oborny, Cindy Jirak, John Holub, Diane Noone and Marie Key.
