The Marion County Sheriff’s office reports there has been no trace of the armed robber who held up the Pilsen State Bank at Lincolnville last Wednesday. The masked man got away with over $5,000 in cash. The case has been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Marion businessmen will observe the traditional pre-Christmas holiday opening again this year on the Friday after Thanksgiving; but this time without the benefit of outdoor lighting. The Christmas decorations will be put up on light poles in downtown Marion but due to the energy crises, the lights will not be turned on.
Richard Johnson, Marion, has been assigned as drivers’ license examiner of this area. Starting Nov. 27, he will be at the courthouse in Marion every Tuesday.
Louis Wegerer, former Marion High School standout football player, has been alternating at defensive left end for Coach Vince Gibson’s K-State Wildcats this fall. The 6-2, 205-pound sophomore is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wegerer of Marion.
Bob and JoAnn Good returned this week from six months travel in Europe. They spent two months visiting friends in Germany. The remaining four months were spent traveling in 15 western European countries, East Germany and Morocco.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd L. Cunningham, Oklahoma City, announce the marriage of their daughter LaQuetta Reah, to Edward Siebert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Siebert, Nov. 10 in Aulne United Methodist Church.
