Included in the picture is Bob Collins of Wichita, attorney for the Ryan Trust that recently contributed $250,000 for equipment and remodeling at St. Luke Hospital.

Jim and Norma Dunham have brought their own version of one of the strongest growth businesses in America to Marion. Scheduled to open by Memorial Day, the Dunhams’ “Small Fry” carry-out restaurant is in the final stage of construction at the corner of Walnut and Main.

Those who want to sign up for cable television in order to save the $20 installation fee must do so before Monday. The city clerk’s office will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday for that purpose.

Forsythia bushes were planted last week along the east bank of Mud Creek in Central Park. The bushes are a part of a memorial to the late Dr. Ralph Melton. “I couldn’t believe the response of the community,” Mrs. Melton said. More than $1,500 was collected for the various plantings.

Larry L. Kerns, subject of this week’s “Personality Profile” by Ruth Meyer, is pictured holding a map of the world. Most of it he has seen in person from a vantage point of several thousand feet aboard famed Air Force I.
