Dick Lundgren, Marion hotelman, was elected Friday to head the Chamber of Commerce for 1961.

A new, all-steel hangar is currently under construction at Marion Municipal Airport. It is being built for Marvin Deckert, Marion independent oil producer, to house his new 1960 Cessna 310 airplane.

Jim Gilbert is spending the holidays traveling with the varsity basketball squad of Colorado State College, Greeley.

Two more wells are reported, and many unreported, in the Marion area, which is currently being mentioned as the “hottest part of the state” in oil and gas starts.

Ricky Laudner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laudner, observed his fourth birthday Sunday and was guest of honor at a party at his parents’ home the next day. Guests were Eldon, David, and Eddie Hett, Mike and Roger Colgin, Johnnie Popp, Jimmie Koslowsky, and Kimmie Young.

Brownie Troop No. 130 and their leaders, Mrs. Earl Wood and Mrs. Leonard Lentz, entertained 13 mothers of troop members and Mrs. Rosse Case, neighborhood chairman, at a Christmas party Dec. 19 at the Wood home. Felt Santas were given to the following members of the troop: Debbie Bell, Leanna Benoit, Vickie Boese, Gena Broz, Cathy Coe, Donna Ewert, Diana Franklin, Jeanette Giles, Rita Lais, Sarah Heidel, Shirley Helmer, Janel Klose, Becky Lentz, Carol Simmons, Sandra Turner, and Patsy Wood.
