Paul Morse has been hired as Marion’s city clerk to replace Richard Lundgren who has resigned. He will take over Nov. 1st.

Major remodeling and construction of expanded facilities at Bud’s Conoco Service was under way this week. Demolition of the former Covey Body Shop building, adjoining the station on the east, which owner Bud Pierce had recently purchased, has been completed.

An official of the Buffalo Petroleum Company, Tulsa, today told the Record that they have high hopes of being able to start construction on a multi-million dollar gasoline plant northwest of Marion by December 1.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hageberg of Burdick are the proud parents of a son born Oct. 25 at the Herington Hospital.

An innovation in Hill Grade activities will take place Tuesday evening when “Homecoming” will be celebrated. Featured will be a football game, principally made up of sixth graders. “The Mighty Red Raiders” will have Bob Elling and Jimmy Magee as captains while Mike Wood and Dennis Highsmith will serve as captains of “The Flashing Blue Streaks.”

Rex Berry announces that Bill Dwelle won the clock radio, Mrs. Sam Glover received an electric skillet, and Bob Smith a steam iron as door prizes during the Texaco station’s “grand opening’ last weekend.
