Start of construction on the Farmers Cooperative Association elevator in Marion was begun today, Thursday. Work will proceed rapidly from here on, it is stated.

Graduation ceremonies for the 75th graduating class of Marion High School were held May 26. Honor awards were made to Lavina Hoffman as valedictorian and James Gilbert as salutatorian and recipient of the Balfour award Richard Meisinger was recognized as the third ranking student in the class.

Some of the students from Marion graduating this spring from throughout the state include Carmen Siebert, Joyce Conyers, Glenda Razor, Audrey Ann Davies Slocombe, and Robert Kline, Emporia State Teachers College; Rowena Olsen, Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina; Michael Brodhead, Don Hayen, and Carolyn Merrill, University of Kansas.

A number of girls from Pilsen enjoyed a picnic and hayrack ride Sunday afternoon and a little bit of fishing. Those girls were Nancy Klenda, Mary Agnes Bina, Theresa Stika, Mary Theresa Konarik, Doris Holub, Elaine Reznicek, and Betty Bina.

Miss Wanda Thode, bride-elect of Dean Williams, was honored with a bridal shower Wednesday evening in the Aulne church parlors.
