Commander Gene Howell of the local American Legion post reports the following people from Marion attended the annual Legion convention at Wichita this weekend: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Al Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Case Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Finke, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hannaford, Mac Kreuter and Mr. and Mrs. Howell. Captain Eddie Rickenbacker of WWI fame was the keynote speaker.

Mary Jo Klenda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Klenda of Marion, and Nancy Lou Vinduska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Vinduska of Lincolnville graduated July 26 from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Wichita.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hett of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Edith Jane, to Thad L. Meierhoff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meierhoff of Marion. No definite wedding date has been set.

Mrs. Mike Navrat brought in several large cucumbers for the Record staff to sample this week. One measured 12½ inches long, was 10½ in circumference, and weighed over 2½ pounds.

“Follow Me,” an inspirational Galilean pageant was presented at Marion County Park and Lake Sunday evening by the youth fellowships of the Marion and Youngtown Evangelical United Brethren churches. The production on the shores of the lake was witnessed by 335 spectators.
